Trade Law and Customs Regulation

The firm has substantial experience in trade law and customs regulation. We help clients that bring in goods and commodities into the country in the importation process, providing them with advice and assistance in valuation, commodity characterization and the proper imposition of customs tax and duties. We represent and support clients in proceedings before the Bureau of Customs and the Tariff Commission. We have defended clients in anti-dumping cases and cases for the imposition of countervailing duties. We help our clients obtain refunds in the form of tax credit certificates, in instances of tariff overpayment.

We have expertise in compliance and other issues arising under the World Trade Organization Agreement, the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, and other multilateral agreements, whether in negotiation, trade policy formulation or other settings. Our experience includes extensive experience with respect to disputes brought before the Dispute Settlement Body of the WTO.
