Thompson Hine released a "Country-by-Country Guide: Government Measures Taken in Response to COVID-19", a chart that summarizes certain actions taken by governments around the world to respond to COVID-19. Thirty-four law firms joined the initiative, SyCipLaw was among the contributors.
The guide serves as a "practical resource for companies adapting to the global pandemic". The chart addresses the following:
- Economic measures, including loan facilities, tax deferrals, stimulus offerings and similar actions
- Labor and employment and employee benefit measures
- Health and safety measures, including travel restrictions, business and other closures, and essential business categories
- Export and import developments, including new restrictions on the export of personal protective equipment (PPE) and medicine and reductions on import duties
A copy of the country-by-country guide is available on Thompson Hine's website.
The chart was prepared by SyCipLaw partners, Rocky Alejandro L. Reyes and Hiyasmin H. Lapitan, with the assistance of legal assistants, Kathleen Mae L. Nieto and Severino Miguel B. Sanchez.
