2020/21 Bar-Passers Set to Take Oath on May 2; SyCipLaw Welcomes Its New Lawyers

April 28, 2022

Successful examinees of the first digitalized 2020/21 Bar examinations are set to take their oath next week, May 2, 2022. Joining the rest of the country’s “Biggest Bar Ever” passers, will be 31 associates of SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan (SyCipLaw). This year’s examinations registered a record-high 72.28% passing rate, and majority of the firm’s recent Bar passers earned the recognition of exemplary and excellent performance.

In congratulating the new lawyers, Carina C. Laforteza, a 2020/21 Bar examiner for tax and SyCipLaw partner, notes that “conquering the bar is a feat in itself, but law school and the Bar are only the start of the race. The race itself is the dynamic, and sometimes uncertain, practice of law. Whether or not this race will be exciting and fulfilling is up to you.” Ms. Laforteza has been a professional lecturer in taxation at the University of the Philippines since 2009. She heads SyCipLaw's tax department.

The oath-taking ceremony is set to be conducted in-person, at the MOA Arena.
