On-Site Operations at SyCipLaw Offices During Modified ECQ and General Community Quarantine
Dear SyCipLaw Clients,
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the President of the Philippines imposed a modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) from May 16 to May 31 over high-risk areas such as Metro Manila and Subic. Cebu City will still under an enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) during this period. Moderate-risk areas such as Davao City is placed under general community quarantine (GCQ) starting May 16.
During the MECQ period, (1) people are still required to stay at home, and (2) public mass transport is still suspended. However, more establishments, such as law firms, are allowed to operate with 50% of their employees on-site. GCQ is less restrictive than MECQ. While public transport is allowed in GCQ areas, it has to be at a reduced capacity and social distancing has to be observed.
Please note that to protect the safety of our employees, we will still not have on-site operations during the MECQ period at our main office in Makati City. Our Cebu City office will be closed in compliance with the ECQ restrictions. Our Subic and Davao City branch offices will have limited operations on-site from May 18 and May 20, respectively. Kindly see the table below.
