World Law Group Singapore member firm Rodyk & Davidson LLP hosted the third World Law Group Asia-Pacific Regional Conference on March 13-14, 2015.

Current WLG Asia-Pacific Regional Director Jessada Sawatdipong of Chandler & Thong-ek and Former WLG President Gerald Singham of Rodykwelcomed a total of 33 delegates from ten member firms all over Asia (Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, and Singapore), as well as a delegate from candidate firm VILAF in Vietnam.

The plenary sessions featured speakers such as:

  • Lok Vi Ming, Senior Counsel, immediate past President of the Singapore Law Society, Director of the Singapore International Mediation Centre, and a Senior Partner of Rodyk;
  • Dr. Christopher Lim, Deputy Director of Business Environment of the Singapore Economic Development Board;
  • Lee Jwee Gwan, Director of Legal Enforcement of the Competition Commission of Singapore; and
  • James Cook, Asia Director of Edelman.

The WLG Regional Conferences aim to create opportunities for younger partners and associates from WLG member firms to meet and foster relationships to both capitalize on the network’s business development potential and ensure ongoing referrals among member firms well into the future. The Regional Conferences also provide senior partners and WLG Key Contact Partners in relevant firms another platform to get together and strengthen existing relationships.
