SyCipLaw assists STARR Companies in establishing its Philippine operations

SyCipLaw acted as Philippine legal counsel to the STARR Companies, a global non-life insurance conglomerate, through the registration of the Philippine branch ("Starr Philippines") of Starr International Insurance (Asia) Limited ("SIAA"), a Hong Kong-based affiliate of the STARR Companies, with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") and the Philippine Insurance Commission ("IC"). The firm assisted in structuring and addressing novel issues relating to the infusion of foreign investment into Starr Philippines and to compliance with capitalization requirements during a transitory period for insurance laws.
