It is with great sadness that SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan announces the passing of Lilia B. Yang. Mrs. Yang had been one of the Firm’s earliest members, and from its inception in 1945, had helped the founders and partners establish and grow the Firm. She eventually took on the title of Director of Finance and Administration, and then Senior Management Consultant after her retirement. But LBY was always more than these positions to the SyCipLaw community and its alumni. She was in part manager, in part matriarch, in part a formidable businessperson, in part an institution who knew many of the country’s legal luminaries when they were still young and struggling lawyers. Mostly, she was “Tita Lily.” She will be missed.
Mrs. Yang’s remains are interred at Sanctuario de San Antonio Columbary, Forbes Park.
