SyCipLaw represents some of the world’s biggest natural resource companies, junior companies, financial institutions, and other participants in the Philippine mining sector.  The Firm acts as Philippine counsel to several of the world’s biggest mining companies as well as to junior companies.

SyCipLaw has acted as counsel to Anglo American Exploration (Australia) Pty Ltd., AngloGold Ashanti Limited, Anglo-American Services, Benguet Corporation, B2Gold, BHP Billiton, Concrete Aggregates Corporation, Filminera Resources Corporation, Gold Fields, Lepanto Mining, Manila Mining, Oceana Gold, Philex Mining, Queensland Nickel, Rapu-Rapu Mining Corporation, Rapu-Rapu Processing Corporation, RTG Mining, Red 5 Limited, and St. Augustine Gold and Copper Limited.

SyCipLaw provides comprehensive legal services to companies that explore, mine, process and sell all types of metals and minerals. We provide advice on all aspects of mining projects, including project structuring, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate financing and project financing, farm‐in agreements, due diligence review, and permitting. We also represent clients in a broad range of administrative and judicial proceedings.

Our lawyers have been in the forefront of natural resource law practice in the Philippines. SyCipLaw negotiated and drafted the first two financial and technical assistance agreements (FTAAs) granted by the Philippine government, as counsel to Western Mining Corporation and Climax‐Arimco for the Tampakan Copper Project and the Didipio Copper Project, respectively.  The Firm, as counsel to intervenor Philippine Chamber of Mines, played a significant role in the reversal by the Philippine Supreme Court of its earlier decision to declare unconstitutional certain provisions of the Philippine Mining Act.
