Department: Special Projects We have conducted notifiability and substantive competition impact assessments in relation to proposed mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, and have filed merger notifications with the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC), represented clients before the PCC in relation to its ongoing review of a covered transaction, and managed responses to the PCC’s requests for additional information to ensure that clients comply completely and quickly.
The Firm handled several of the notifications that had been made under the PCA’s transitory regime. It also secured the first merger approval under the PCA-IRR in relation to the acquisition by Sanofi of the consumer health care business of Boehringer Ingelheim. Since that transaction, the Firm has handled merger notification for global and local deals involving the automotive, insurance, retail, pharmaceutical, consumer health, energy, real estate, aviation, transportation, media, manufacturing, industrial gas, and telecommunications.
