Catherina M. Fernandez
Catherina M. Fernandez is a Special Counsel of SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan. She is a tax specialist with broad experience in handling Philippine and international tax and customs issues.
Ms. Fernandez is licensed to practice law in the Philippines and New York, USA. She worked for over a decade in the New York Metropolitan Area advising various multinational clients on cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions, internal reorganizations, and deal structuring.
Her tax practice covers deficiency tax assessment cases, applications for tax treaty benefits, tax issues involving inbound investments, tax due diligence, tax deal structuring, post-acquisition integration, as well as permanent establishment issues. In addition, she was also involved in intragroup restructuring and intellectual property migration projects to achieve efficient cash mobilization, effective tax planning, and risk minimization.
