Roman George P. Castillo

Roman George P. Castillo is a member of the Firm’s Taxation, Special Projects, and Corporate Services departments. His practice deals with various fields of taxation, contract negotiations, construction, mergers and acquisitions, insurance, corporate services, and other special projects.

As a member of the Firm’s Taxation group, Roman specializes in advising clients on complex tax disputes and corporate tax restructuring. He regularly represents businesses across diverse industries (including brewery, oil, mining, and banking) in tax assessment and refund cases before the Philippine Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Court of Tax Appeals. In addition, he counsels both international and Philippine corporations on the tax implications of corporate acquisitions, restructuring, and other strategic transactions, ensuring compliance and optimizing tax efficiency.

Beyond taxation, Roman has significant experience in the construction and infrastructure sector, advising clients on contract drafting, bidding, and negotiations for large-scale projects. His work includes engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreements for renewable energy facilities, network data centers, and other critical infrastructure. He has guided clients through complex contractual frameworks, ensuring compliance with Philippine construction laws and regulatory requirements. In addition, he has also participated in legal due diligence and contributed to projects involving the acquisition of interests in industries such as renewable energy, transportation and shipping, and petroleum product storage.

In addition, Roman handles general corporate matters, serving as corporate secretary and assistant corporate secretary for several corporations. He advises clients on regulatory compliance and assists with various corporate transactions.

Roman is also Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

He provides corporate secretarial support to the Philippine Eagle Foundation, contributing to governance and compliance for one of the country’s leading conservation organizations.
