Ramon I. Rocha IV

Ramon I. Rocha IV is a member of the Firm’s Litigation and Arbitration Department. Ramon specializes in handling civil and criminal litigation and commercial arbitration involving complex disputes.

Ramon represents clients in domestic and international arbitrations, and in local court proceedings involving interim relief, enforcement, and confirmation proceedings in connection with arbitral awards. He has extensive experience in appearing before all levels of Philippine courts and in handling adversarial matters before administrative and quasi-judicial agencies such as the Energy Regulatory Commission, Mines Adjudication Board, Commission on Audit, and Philippine Competition Commission. Ramon also handles product liability cases for a major automobile manufacturer before the Department of Trade and Industry’s Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau and the trial courts.

Among other recent engagements, Ramon was part of the teams representing a leading international construction company in a Php700 million dispute involving the construction of foundations for an elevated expressway project; defending the owner of a solar power project in a claim filed by one of the contractors involved during the construction of the solar power plant; representing an international printing company in a claim worth millions of dollars involving a Philippine government agency’s failure to comply with its contractual obligations; and representing the contractor of a major gold-copper mine in the northern Philippines in a petition seeking the cancellation of the contractor’s financial or technical assistance agreement with the National Government which authorizes the implementation of mining projects within the area covered by the agreement.

Ramon has conducted training sessions among clients’ management and staff in respect of potential dawn raids by various administrative agencies.

Ramon also handles corporate secretarial work and advises clients on general regulatory requirements.

Ramon is currently the Assistant Treasurer of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, Makati Chapter.
