Hailin DG. Quintos-Ruiz

Hailin DG. Quintos-Ruiz is a member of the Firm’s Special Projects, Banking Finance & Securities, Taxation, and Corporate Services departments. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Her practice covers taxation, investments, mergers and acquisitions, financing, and corporate services. She has been involved in projects involving the acquisition of interests in various industries, including telecommunications, transportation and shipping, manufacturing and distribution, stock brokerage, and information technology.

Hailin has participated in various legal due diligence and has advised international and Philippine corporations on tax and legal aspects of corporate acquisitions, restructuring, and other commercial transactions. She also regularly advises clients on Philippine Economic Zone Authority-related matters and represents clients before tax authorities in connection with tax assessments and tax treaty relief applications.

She was also involved in the following projects:

• Investment by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) in a local independent tower company;
• US$175 million investment by KKR and Tencent Holdings Ltd. in a subsidiary of PLDT, Inc.;
• Due diligence in connection with the acquisition by Alipay Singapore of 45% interest in a wholly owned subsidiary of Globe Telecom, Inc.;
• PhP46.8 billion (approximately US$936 million) business acquisition by of a local tobacco manufacturing company; and
• Public offerings of the country’s sole transmission service provider, a green real estate developer, and one of the country’s largest cement manufacturing and distribution company.
