Evan Clark P. Lim is based in SyCipLaw’s Cebu office. His areas of practice include litigation, corporate services and business transaction, special projects, immigration, and taxation.
Evan has handled civil, criminal, and commercial cases before the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Court of Tax Appeals, various trial courts, and the Department of Justice. He has also assisted and represented clients in immigration matters before the Bureau of Immigration.
He has experience in legal due diligence, contract drafting and review, and the provision of general legal advice to clients. His advisory work covers property acquisitions, immigration matters, and labor issues, as well as taxation matters, including cross-border transfer pricing, taxability of share and property transfers, and tax exemptions. He has also assisted clients in claims for tax refunds, processing of Certificates Authorizing Registration and tax clearances for various transactions before the Bureau of Internal Revenue, and the filing of formal tax protests against local business tax assessments. In addition, he has assisted clients in proceedings before the Bids and Awards Committee of local government units.
His practice also includes corporate services and business transactions, with substantial experience in corporate housekeeping, registration and amendments of incorporation documents with the Securities and Exchange Commission, capital restructuring, share transfers, and general corporate advisory work. He has likewise assisted clients in proceedings before the Securities and Exchange Commission and commercial courts.
In addition, he handles special projects involving asset and land acquisitions, review of loan and security documents, and title verification. He also sits on the boards of directors of various corporations.
