Spencer M. Albos
Spencer M. Albos is an associate of SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan. He is a member of its Litigation Department, Employment and Immigration Department, and Tax Department.
His main practice areas include labor and employment laws (dealing with both labor-corporate and labor-litigation matters) and litigation on civil, commercial, criminal, and tax matters.
He also handles general corporate work and regularly reviews various kinds of contracts.
Labor and Employment – Mr. Albos counsels clients on employment-related issues, specifically industrial relations, collective bargaining, labor compliance audits, compulsory arbitration, and labor litigation.
He also advises clients on work permit and visa requirements relative to local employment.
He regularly appears, assists, and represents clients in mediation-conciliation conferences and compulsory arbitration proceedings.
Litigation – Mr. Albos assists in handling civil, commercial, and criminal litigation cases for clients both in the Philippines and abroad. He has also undergone various trainings on arbitration and dispute resolution, and is an active member of the Philippine Institute of Arbitrators (PIArb), the country's first learned dispute resolution society.
Taxation – Mr. Albos likewise assists in handling tax cases pending in the Regional Trial Court, the Court of Tax Appeals, and the Supreme Court.
Aside from being a lawyer, Mr. Albos is also a Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT), having passed the PRC’s Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) in November 2010. He previously worked as an Instructor and a Special Science Teacher at the University of the Philippines and the Philippine Science High School – Diliman, respectively.
Mr. Albos was recently inducted in The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the oldest, most respected, and most selective all-disciplines honor society worldwide.
