BackImmigration Paralegal
Responsibilities:
- File, follow up, and release visa-related documentation with relevant government agencies, including the Bureau of Immigration (BI – Main Office and Makati), Board of Investments (BOI), Department of Justice (DOJ), BOI–Special Investor’s Resident Visa Unit, and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
- Prepare and file petitions, motions, letters (requests and notices), and resolutions with the appropriate regulatory bodies.
- Endorse released documents from the BOI to the department for appropriate processing and action.
- Assist lawyers and clients during administrative hearings related to clients’ expatriate visa applications.
- Coordinate with and meets clients for fingerprinting and biometric data capture as required by immigration authorities.
- Endorse client inquiries to the department’s Administrative Assistant for appropriate handling and follow-through.
- Prepare and submit daily and monthly status reports, as required by the department.
- Obtain and monitor relevant BI circulars, memoranda, and other regulatory issuances necessary for immigration processing.
- Conduct verification of foreign nationals’ immigration records, including checks for derogatory records (e.g., watchlist, blacklist, and hold departure orders).
- Perform other immigration-related administrative and coordination tasks as may be assigned.
Requirements:
- Graduate of any 4-year course, relevance to law practice or immigration procedure preferred
- Relevant experience is an advantage, but not a must; willing to undergo training and successfully obtain BI Accreditation
