Luisito V. Liban
Luisito V. Liban is a senior partner in SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan. He is a member of its Executive Committee and the head of its Employment and Immigration Department. Mr. Liban specializes in employment law, labor relations and litigation.
Mr. Liban has been practicing law for 35 years and his areas of expertise include employment law, labor relations and litigation. He has represented clients in oral arguments before the Philippine Supreme Court.
In the field of employment and labor law, his work experience and expertise covers a broad and diverse range of issues including: restructuring and reorganization; mergers and acquisitions; termination; collective bargaining and union-related matters; employment contracts, policies and handbooks; retirement, benefits and incentives; and dispute resolution, conciliation and mediation, compulsory and voluntary arbitration.
Mr. Liban is the country contributor to Watson Wyatt’s Publication on Employment Terms and Conditions for Asia Pacific.
He was named “In-House Community Commended External Counsel of the Year, 2017” by Asian-Mena Counsel Magazine. He was also nominated by peers as one of the World’s Leading Practitioners in the field of Labor and Employment in the 2017 Who’s Who Legal Publications.
Mr. Liban teaches labor law at the University of Asia and the Pacific - School of Law (2017).
He serves as director, corporate secretary and resident agent of various companies.
